Junctional Rhytm

In Junctional Rhythms the electrical impulse originates in the AV node.

After the electrical impulse originates in the AV node it will then propagate in both directions atrial and ventricular.

 

The AV node automaticity rate is between 40 - 60 beats per minute. In Junctional Rhythm the expected heart rate should be between 40 - 60 beats per minute.

 

 

According to where the electrical impulse originates in the AV node the P wave may be inverted before the QRS complex, hidden behind the QRS complex or seen after the QRS complex.
